Welcome to Maru Sewing Patterns. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website (www.marusewingpatterns.com) and the purchase of our physical sewing patterns. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. General Conditions

By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your province or country of residence. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

2. Products and Shipping

  • Physical Goods: We sell physical sewing patterns. We do not offer digital downloads at this time.
  • Territory: We currently ship exclusively within South Africa.
  • Shipping Provider: All orders are fulfilled via The Courier Guy.
  • Delivery: Once an order is handed to the courier, delivery times are subject to their schedules. We are not responsible for delays caused by the courier service, though we will assist in tracking your package.

3. Payments and Pricing

  • Currency: All prices are listed and charged in South African Rand (ZAR).
  • Payment Methods: We accept payments via Bank Deposit, Mastercard, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.
  • Order Confirmation: Orders will only be processed once payment has been cleared and reflected in our account (specifically for bank deposits).

4. No Returns and Refund Policy

Due to the nature of sewing patterns (which can be easily copied or traced), we maintain a strict No Returns policy for physical patterns.

  • Refunds: Refunds are only granted in exceptional circumstances (e.g., the product arrives damaged or the incorrect item was sent).
  • Proof Required: To be eligible for a refund, you must provide "Proper Proof" within 7 days of delivery. This includes clear photographs of the damaged or incorrect item and the original packaging.

5. Intellectual Property & Personal Use

All designs, patterns, and instructions are the intellectual property of Mascha Rutherford.

  • Personal Use Only: Your purchase grants you a single-user license for personal, non-commercial use.
  • Prohibited Use: You may not use these patterns to produce garments for sale, commercial production, or profit.
  • No Redistribution: You may not copy, resell, share, or redistribute the physical patterns or any part of the instructions to others.

6. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa. Any disputes relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
